Guardian Home Program Agreement
Partnering with loving families to raise future moms in our breeding program
This agreement is between Lolli’s Bernedoodles, LLC (“Breeder”) and the approved Guardian Family (“Guardian”) for the care and placement of a female breeding prospect or proven breeder (“Dog”). This contract is effective January 2026. Failure to follow the terms below may result in the Dog being returned to the Breeder.
Welcome to the Lolli’s Bernedoodles Family
Our Guardian Home Program allows our future mama dogs to grow up in loving family homes while remaining part of our breeding program. This partnership benefits both our program and your family, and our goal is to create a positive, respectful, and supportive experience for everyone involved.
Program Benefits
- The Dog is provided at no cost to the Guardian Family
- Estimated value of $8,000 to $10,000
- Breeder covers all breeding-related expenses
- Full ownership transfers to the Guardian Family after retirement and spay
Guardian Family Requirements
To qualify, the Guardian Family agrees to:
- Live within two (2) hours of our home
- Own their home
- Have a securely fenced yard
- Never allow off-leash activity in unsecured areas or dog parks
- Have reliable transportation for breeding visits
- Maintain open and respectful communication
- Feed Life’s Abundance Lamb and Rice Blend
- Use NuVet Plus Supplements
- Use Simparica Trio year-round
- Keep vaccinations current, including Lyme
- Maintain Trupanion medical pet insurance until retirement
- Complete Baxter and Bella puppy training courses toward CGC
- Have all household dogs tested for Brucellosis
- Respect breeder decisions made in the Dog’s best interest
Ownership
Ownership remains with Lolli’s Bernedoodles while the Dog is in the breeding program. All puppies born to the Dog are the sole property of the Breeder. After retirement and spay, full ownership transfers to the Guardian Family in writing.
Possession & Breeding Care
The Guardian Family will have full-time possession of the Dog except when needed by the Breeder for:
- Veterinary testing or pregnancy monitoring
- Breeding during heat cycles, usually 5 to 10 days
- Whelping starting 7 to 14 days before delivery through puppy weaning at approximately 6 to 8 weeks
Total time away for each litter is typically 9 to 10 weeks. Females will not be bred more than _____ times.
The Breeder may visit the Guardian home annually to discuss care and wellbeing. If communication breaks down or the Guardian Family refuses to follow program terms, the Breeder may remove the Dog from the home.
Guardian Family Responsibilities
The Guardian Family agrees to:
- Keep the Dog as an indoor family companion
- Safely contain the Dog when home alone
- Follow Breeder feeding guidelines and cover routine care costs
- Provide daily exercise and proper socialization
- Use ______________________________ as the Dog’s primary vet unless emergency care is needed
- Bring the Dog to the Breeder 2 to 4 times per year for photos
- Schedule and pay for routine veterinary visits
- Maintain house manners and basic obedience
- Test all household dogs for Brucellosis every 6 months and submit results
- Notify Breeder of address, phone, or email changes
- Arrange in-home care for vacations (no boarding or daycare)
- Inform Breeder of all vet visits
- Receive approval before adding new dogs to the household
Termination
This agreement ends if:
- Ownership transfers to the Guardian Family after retirement
- The Breeder determines non-compliance that risks the Dog’s health or safety
- The Dog passes away
- The Guardian Family returns the Dog to the Breeder
Liability
The Guardian Family agrees to hold Lolli’s Bernedoodles harmless from any claims or damages resulting from the Dog while in their care.
